When you decide to remodel a portion or all of your home, you need to be prepared for what that entails.
The obvious one is you will be without that section of your home for the duration of the project. That can be a serious inconvenience but it is unavoidable. If you are having your bathroom remodeled, know you will need access to another one for at least 2 to 3 weeks. If you are remodeling your kitchen, it could be even longer. Whenever we are about to start a project, I like to make sure the homeowner is aware of this so they can plan accordingly. It sounds fun at first when you think about the kitchen being down for 3 to 4 weeks. Who doesn’t love an excuse not to cook and get to go out to dinner every night? The down side? Having to wash any dishes you use in the bathtub! Yes, that gets old quick.
I cannot tell you the number of times homeowner’s get about 2 weeks into the project and are looking for us to finish quickly so they can get back to normal. But with every good remodel, the end result is truly worth the wait. Getting settled back into your brand new bathroom or kitchen is a great feeling!
